New Name, New Year, New School

So it's that time of year again! School officially started for me today! My new school, Ringgold Elementary, is awesome.  I have such a good feeling about this year (let's hope I still feel like this in Jan).

I'm very excited, but also nervous. Any of you that know me well know that leaving Glenbrook was a difficult decision for me. I whole-heartily loved the people and students there.  So now I feel like a newbie again.  Starting all over, trying to figure out the school's routines and procedures.

Thankfully I have some amazing co-workers that I have known practically my whole life (and most of them are newbies too) to help me out on this new teaching journey.

I would appreciate some prayers for this upcoming year!! Please pray I: 1) survive (LOL) 2) have safe travels and 3) have a positive impact on my students and fellow teachers.

With all that being said here are a few pics of my classroom. I kept the jungle theme I've had the past 3 year!

Back to Blogging

Ok.  So I am the WORST blogger on the planet. Literally.  I think I go through stages when I am full of free time and then I am rushed non-stop.  MID-YEAR GOAL- Start blogging more!

So here is what has been going on the last few months........

I got married!!! Rob and I were happily hitched on June 15th.

We went on our honeymoon to Sandals Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  Its the BEST place on the planet.  Already booked our return trip for next year. Counting down the days...........11 months, 18 days, 10 hours, 47 mins, and 38,37, 36,35 secs.

I'm busy trying to plan a trip to go on in October.

1 Vote- Toronto
1 Vote- Beach (Florida, Mexico, Bahamas,?)

Maybe we should draw out of a hat!!!

I opened an etsy business!! Check us out here......http://www.etsy.com/shop/FleurDeLisFigurines

We are selling these lovely Fleur-De-Lis decor made by my oh so fabulous DAD.

In the fall I am starting a new teaching job at Ringgold Elementary.  I feel like I'm in deja vu.  At my old school I taught 2nd grade, had a mascot that was an indian, and the school colors were red, blue and white.  GUESS what I'm getting at my new school???!!!!

Teaching: 2nd Grade
Mascot: Indian
School Colors: Red, White, & Blue

CRAZY HUH??

I'm actually VERY excited to teach at Ringgold.  Guess who started their oh so fabulous career at the home of the Redskins????  MOTHER DEAREST HERSELF.

Yep, you read that right. Tammy once had indian pride.
My mom had the pleasure of teaching 2nd grade for 9 years at Ringgold.  That old saying, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."  I'm living proof of that statement.

Well that is just a tidbit of what is going on in my life! I am anxiously waiting for Monday morning to roll around so I can hit the ground running, trying to move into my new classroom.  And when I say running, I am referring to cheetah speed and more! School will be here in 3 short week!!!
